Friday Fashion Lesson: Tory Burch

Hey Girl Hey,

So it's time to get back using those brain muscles and to dig deep into the brands that we all love so much. This Friday Fashion Lesson is all about Tory Burch.

This is one of my personal favorite brands to talk about because it's so easy and always versatile. You can feel comfy and polished in an office setting or just running into Target looking fabulous.

So who is this Tory Burch? Is she a real person? What's her deal? I'd though you'd never ask..

Miss Tory is the ultimate girl boss and is in FACT a real human. She is the Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer for the mega company Tory Burch LLC. Pretty cool she works for a company with her same name huh?

Tory is from Valley Forge, PA and was raised in a 250 year old farmhouse near a historical national park.That seems way too Hallmark movie but it's true.

Her first job was at United Colors of Benetton in the King Of Prussia Mall in Philly. That's a bit more down to earth..first job at the mall types..we could have been friends.

So she lived a pretty normal life really..Mall job,high school and then college. Bah Blah Blah...after graduating from the University of PA she moved to NYC and worked for a designer and then freaking Harper's Bazaar. Then on to advertising at Vera Wang, Polo Ralph Lauren and Loewe. So she really did get a hands on education in the industry before going out on her own in 2004.

She opened a small retail store in Manhattan and then expanded to 250 + stores after that. Oh and don't forget to count the over 3,000 department stores her brand shows up in.

But what I think is the absolute coolest is she ranks #73 as the most powerful woman in the world!!!

So even when she is running all the things..she makes time to give back to women. Each year she gives back with a year long mentoring program and invests in female owned businesses through her foundation. WAY TO GO TORY!!!

Great brand inside and out and led by a kick ass female CEO.
